Picking Cloud Services#

AWS, Azure, and GCP each offer the same core categories of services, though implementation, performance, and pricing vary by provider. See the following pages for an overview of each service:

  • Virtual Machines: On-demand compute for analyses, simulations, and custom software environments

  • Object Storage: Scalable storage for research datasets, backups, and sharing data with collaborators

  • Managed Databases: Fully managed database services for structured, large-scale, or long-term data
