Sharing Data

Your collaborators, especially those outside of Northwestern University, may not have access to all of the locations that you store your data. Globus Guest Collections allow you to grant read and/or write access to some collections to any Globus user, even if they do not have a Northwestern NetID. Additionally, you can create shared collections on Northwestern systems to facilitate automated workflows.

The following Northwestern managed collections allow creation of Guest Collections

• Northwestern Quest

• Northwestern Quest RDSS

• Northwestern Amazon S3 (Standard)

Note

The Northwestern OneDrive/SharePoint - High Assurance collection does not allow Guest Collections because similar sharing capabilities are available using Microsoft accounts. See Overview of external sharing in SharePoint and OneDrive in Microsoft 365 for more information.
